Book Review on The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires

I got the book suggestion from Genevieve Padalecki on her Instagram @nowandgen. I was a little hesitant because I thought it was just another book about vampires. I am so glad I joined in on her book club because I devoured that book with in 4-5 days.

The book synopsis is as follows:

In every book we read, no one ever thought anything bad was happening until it was too late. Patricia Campbell's life has never felt smaller. Her husband is a workaholic, her teenage kids have their own lives, her senile mother-in-law needs constant care, and she's always a step behind on her endless to-do list. The only thing keeping her sane is her book club, a close-knit group of Charleston women united by their love of true crime. At these meetings they're as likely to talk about the Manson family as they are about their own families.

One evening after book club, Patricia is viciously attacked by an elderly neighbor, bringing the neighbor's handsome nephew, James Harris, into her life. James is a well traveled and well read, and he makes Patricia feel things she hasn't felt in years. But when children on the other side of town go missing, their deaths written off by local police, Patricia has reason to believe James Harris is more of a Bundy than a Brad Pitt. The real problem? James is a monster of a different kind-and Patricia has already invited him in.

Little by little, James will insinuate himself in Patricia's life and try to take everything she took for granted-including the book club-but she won't surrender without a fight in this blood-soaked tale of neighborly kindness gone wrong.

Let's get into the book review. I think it was amazingly written. I would recommend this book to anyone who like supernatural beings like vampires, werewolves, and the like. I really truly loved this book. It begins with them being normal stay at home wives and moms, then they cross paths with this man and then their lives change. Whether it is for the best or not you must decide that for yourself.

The reason I enjoyed this book so much is because I am apart of a couple of book clubs myself. One with a group of women, the now and gen book club, and then another with a good friend of mine. I will be writing a book review on the books I absolutely love and also ones that are fiction. I prefer fiction massively due to how the author writes. And I love books such as this book, the Hunger Games, and the Inheritance series.

As I said this book is good for any one that loves to read fiction. I am pretty sure that in a few months I will go back and read it again and it will be like reading it all over again. And that is because it is such a big book when you re read it you will find something different in it.
